At present, cross-border e-commerce is developing at an unprecedented speed, becoming a new driving force for foreign trade development, a new channel for transformation and upgrading, and a new focus for high-quality development. Weifang is a major industrial and manufacturing city with a strong industrial base and a wide range of industries. How can we leverage the advantages of cross-border trade to enable more "Weifang quality products" to reach the global market?
Since the beginning of this year, the comprehensive bonded zone has initiated the "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt" project, fostering deep integration between cross-border e-commerce and Weifang's advantageous industries. This initiative aims to create a benchmark for development, empowering the industrial belt and facilitating the global reach of more "Weifang quality products".
"Leveraging the industrial advantages of Weifang, we have seen an increasing number of local partners, leading to rapid business expansion. In the first half of the year, we have already exceeded last year's total export volume," said Zhang Shengbao, General Manager of Weifang Huida Supply Chain Co., Ltd. This cross-border e-commerce enterprise focuses on the export of automotive and motorcycle parts, with products sold in over 100 countries and regions, and over 10,000 orders shipped overseas daily.
By integrating the unique characteristics of local industries and forming partnerships with local companies to go global, cross-border e-commerce enterprises have not only expanded into larger international markets but also opened another door for related companies in the industrial belt to enter the global arena.
At Shandong Yuntu New Materials Co., Ltd. in Fangzi District, finished car covers are successfully packed and ready for overseas shipment after customs clearance in the comprehensive bonded zone. With the support of Huida Supply Chain's cross-border e-commerce channels, the company's annual sales have increased by more than 50 million yuan.
Zhang Shengbao noted that they have established partnerships with nearly 50 enterprises in Weifang and will continue to enhance communication and collaboration with local businesses. They aim to leverage their overseas market advantages to help more Weifang products enter the international market. As the cross-border business matures, Huida Supply Chain has begun to develop its brands, currently cultivating over a dozen independent brands, including labwork, labworkmoto, and findmall, focused on creating high-quality cross-border trade service brands.
An increasing number of industrial belt enterprises are looking to leverage cross-border e-commerce channels to explore international markets, and cross-border e-commerce enterprises are intensifying their support for traditional industrial belt companies in their transformation and globalization. Currently, the comprehensive bonded zone has facilitated cooperation between over a dozen cross-border e-commerce companies and local industries, such as auto parts, glass adhesives, agricultural products, musical instruments, agricultural machinery, and wood products, leading to the initial formation of a cross-border e-commerce industrial cluster.
Shandong Ant Building Materials Co., Ltd. specializes in the export of sealants. Since joining the comprehensive bonded zone last year, it has been exploring the "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt" development model. By leveraging years of accumulated foreign trade resources and channels, the company successfully acquired a stake in Shandong Hualv New Material Technology Co., Ltd. in Linqu County through an agreed sales volume. This cooperative approach effectively addresses the issue of "having a market but no product on the front end, and having a product but no market on the back end." Zhang Jinli, the head of the company, noted that becoming a shareholder of Shandong Hualv Aluminum New Material Technology Co., Ltd. not only resolved product channel issues but also provided a greater "say" in the production process and quality, enabling the company to better meet the needs of foreign markets.
Wang Changbin, head of the Bureau of Commerce of the Comprehensive Bonded Zone, stated that to assist cross-border e-commerce companies in the zone in connecting more resources and exploring larger markets, the Comprehensive Bonded Zone is leveraging Weifang's advantageous industries to create a "bonded warehouse + overseas warehouse" dual-warehouse linkage model. By utilizing the 300,000 square meters of bonded warehouse resources, it leverages functions such as bonded warehouse entry for tax refunds, bonded warehousing, and joint management to support cross-border e-commerce companies in establishing export consolidation warehouses, return centers, and classified supervision and direct transfer warehouses. This serves enterprises in the city's advantageous industrial belts in their efforts to enter international markets. Currently, 14 overseas warehouses have been established in 10 countries, including the United States, Australia, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands, equipped with warehousing management, sorting and packaging, logistics distribution, display sales, after-sales service, and dropshipping capabilities, forming a comprehensive network for cross-border e-commerce overseas sales and logistics hubs.
