Journalists explore Chinas marine innovation at “Genghai No. 1” in Yantai

  The theme interview event“Yantai as a Fairyland in the Eyes of Chinese and Foreign Journalists”was held on April 28th, with participation of more than 100 journalists from Chinese and foreign media outlets of 39 countries. Their first stop in Yantai was the Genghai No.1 marine ranching complex, where they got aintuitive experienceof the city’s innovative mode combining“blue granary”+“blue cultural tourism”.

  The "Genghai No. 1" modern marine ranching complex is a key project invested and designed by ShandongMarineGroup. It is the only pilot project for the construction of equipment-based marine ranchingconforming totheShandong Standard.

  Upon boarding the "Genghai No. 1", the first thing that caught theireyeswas the 800-meter long and 5-meter wide corridor. The sea area enclosed in the middle of thecorridor has a water depth of about 10 meters, a horizontal area of 40,000 square meters, and a total water volume of 400,000 cubic meters, making it the largest single aquaculture waterinChina.

  What amazed the interview team is that the automatic feeding system on the platform,which couldaccurately distribute feed according to the growth cycle of the fish and environmental changes. Whenencounteringstrong winds and waves, the staff can remotely control feeding and monitoring operations through a mobile terminal,therebyensuring the smooth operation of the fish farm.

  Heading south along the corridoristhe second phase of "Genghai No. 1". The main deck, shaped like a starfish, attracted the attention of the interview team with its highly technological architectural form. This marine complex, with an outer diameter of 120 meters and an outdoor deck area of 16,000 square meters, innovatively creates a new scene of marine culturethroughperfectly integrating marine culture with modernleisure activities.

  Entering the Marine FisheryScience Exhibition Hall, the interview group seems to have traveled to a future ocean world. The beautiful scenery of Yantai has captivated SerbianRTRSjournalistAna Vojinovic. Carrying her camera, she shot many videos and photos. She said she was excited to share these with the people ofhercountry,"I'm sure they will love it, becauseeverything isamazing here."
