　　On May 28th, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Global Youth Conference · Zibo’s International Friendship Cities 40th Anniversary & The 2nd International Friendship Week kicked off. It has deepened exchanges, shared friendship and cooperation, and sought common development with international friendship cities. Fan Huaping, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress, Chen Baiwei, the then-Deputy Director of the Shandong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and the then-Executive Vice President of the Shandong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and some Zibo City leaders, including Ma Xiaolei, Sun Qinglei, Zhang Yanting, Lin Heng, and Hu Xiaohong, attended. More than 300 guests from 28 countries, including international friendship provinces and cities of Zibo City, friendly organizations, heads of embassies and representative offices in China, and young entrepreneurs, participated in the event.

　　Mr.Fan Huaping warmly welcomed the arrival of all the guests. He said that Shandong Province conscientiously implemented the important instructions of the Chinese President Xi Jinping, accelerated the construction of a green, low-carbon and high-quality development pilot area, made every effort to build a new highland of high-level opening up, and worked hard to write the chapter of the Chinese path to modernization. "Hospitality Shandong, good Shandong" is world-renowned. He hoped that all guests and young friends could feel the vigorous pulse of the Chinese path to modernization in Shandong, deepen friendships through exchanges and mutual learning, and follow the trend of the times.

　　Mr. Ma Xiaolei, Secretary of the CPC Zibo Municipal Party Committee, stated that Zibo is committed to building a historic city that connects the world with civilization, an industrial powerhouse that links the world with innovation, a cultural and tourism hotspot that embraces the world with poetry, and a vibrant new city that communicates the world with youth. The road of openness is getting wider and the bridge of cooperation is getting farther and farther. Zibo is embracing the world more closely and becoming more and more international. I hope more international and young friends can come to Zibo, understand Zibo, and fall in love with Zibo. Together we can write a new chapter of "growing together with friendship cities".

　　The guest representatives congratulated the successful holding of the event and highly praised the achievements of Shandong Province and Zibo City in economic and social development. They unanimously expressed their intention to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with Shandong and Zibo in areas such as economy, trade, culture, science and technology, education, and youth exchanges, aiming to enhance mutual learning and trust, consolidate positive consensus, and strive to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

　　During the opening ceremony, we also held the Friendship Cities Theme Promotion Meeting, released a series of achievements in international youth exchange and cooperation, held a signing ceremony for building friendship city relationships and cooperation projects, and launched the Zibo Foreign-related Affairs Integrated Service Platform. After the opening ceremony, the attending guests visited the Exhibition and Trade Fair of Zibo's International Friendship Cities 40th Anniversary for Cooperation. On the afternoon of the 27th, the International Friendship City Mayor Dialogue was held, attended by Zhao Qingwen, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zibo Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Zibo Municipal People’s Government. Representatives from all parties jointly signed the International Friendship Cities Cooperation and Development Initiative.

　　International Youth Talent Dialogue

　　On May 28th, a series of activities were also organized, including the International Youth Talent Dialogue and the Latin American Bridge - Zibo Special Session. More than 30 foreign youth representatives who came to Zibo and Chinese and foreign students from Zibo Polytechnic University participated in the event. They delivered keynote speeches around the theme of “The City in My Eyes”, sharing unique observations and insights on Zibo, as well as ideas and suggestions for the city's cultural environment and development. After the dialogue, foreign youth representatives were grouped to participate in traditional cultural experience activities such as traditional Chinese medicine culture and ceramic culture.

　　Latin America Bridge - Zibo Special Session

　　More than 20 representatives from friendly provinces, including Brazil's Paraná and Bahia states and Hungary's Pest megye state, Shandong University of Technology, Shandong Agriculture and Engineering University, and Zibo Polytechnic University, etc., attended the Latin America Bridge - Zibo Special Session. Focusing on mutual understanding, representatives from various fields gave a basic introduction and exchanged cooperation potentials. Discussions and exchanges were held around education exchange and cooperation, smart agriculture, agricultural product trade cooperation, etc.

　　During their stay in Zibo, delegations also visited enterprises, universities, and cultural venues such as Shinva Medical Instrument Co., Ltd, Shandong Jinjing Science and Technology Co., Ltd., Xinhua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Shandong Vocational College of Light Industry, and Zhoucun Ancient Town.
