Dongyingnews App News:On October 21, the 2025 Saline-Alkali Land Comprehensive Utilization Technology Innovation Conference was held.
Attendees included Li Jinxiang, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of China Association of Rural Development; Zhang Haibo, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Shandong Province; Chong Kang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Long Lehao and Jin Zhengyu, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Chen Bichang, Deputy Secretary of CPC Dongying Municipal Committee, Mayor of Dongying City, Secretary of CPC Working Committee and Director of Administrative Committee of Agricultural High-tech Industrial Demonstration Area of the Yellow River Delta of Shandong Province; and Zhu Yingkun, Deputy Secretary of CPC Working Committee and Executive Deputy Director of Administrative Committee of Agricultural High-tech Industrial Demonstration Area of the Yellow River Delta of Shandong Province.
Li Jinxiang pointed out that the National Center of Technology Innovation for Comprehensive Utilization of Saline-Alkali Land has fully leveraged its role as a “pioneer in saline-alkali land science and technology”, bringing together top talent teams from across the country and establishing a number of high-level research platforms, providing robust support for technological innovation and industrial development related to saline-alkali land nationwide. The next step is to continue strengthening the center’s position as a national-level team, promote the concentration of talent, technology, capital, and other resources towards saline-alkali land development, and build a new pattern of comprehensive saline-alkali land management characterized by coordinated efforts between central and local authorities and across regions.
Zhang Haibo emphasized that in recent years, CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Shandong Provincial People’s Government have kept in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s earnest instructions, shouldered the responsibilities of a major agricultural and grain province, deeply practiced the Big Food Concept, built a “1+4” agricultural production system, and made solid strides in advancing the construction of the “Qilu Granary”. The next step will be to rely on the National Center of Technology Innovation for Comprehensive Utilization of Saline-Alkali Land to accelerate the improvement of scientific research innovation, industrial development, and talent service systems, and comprehensively enhance the level of self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology for the comprehensive utilization of saline-alkali land.
Chen Bichang stated that in recent years, Dongying City has thoroughly implemented the important instructions and requirements made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work of Shandong and during his inspection in Dongying, intensified efforts to build the National Center of Technology Innovation for Comprehensive Utilization of Saline-Alkali Land, and provided replicable and scalable experiences and practices for expanding new cultivated land channels and enhancing comprehensive agricultural production capacity. Dongying will fully utilize the outcomes of this conference to accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements related to saline-alkali land and promote industrial development, contributing wisdom and efforts to strengthening the foundation of national food security.
Xu Yi, Deputy Director of the New Quality Productivity Promotion Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Liu Xianwu, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Li Xiangdong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Leng Changjian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shandong Agricultural University, delivered speeches at the conference.
The conference released the “Saline-Alkali Land Comprehensive Utilization Technology Development Report (2025)” and the “China Saline-Alkali Land Characteristic Industries Development Report (Yellow River Estuary Tan Sheep)”. During the event, activities including a touring exhibition of achievements in comprehensive saline-alkali land utilization and field research were also conducted.
Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, relevant provincial departments and units, as well as responsible officials from Dongying City and the Agricultural High-tech Industrial Demonstration Area of the Yellow River Delta of Shandong Province attended the conference.
